Sabrina Jones Awarded Senior Move Manager – Certified Designation by the National Association of Senior Move Managers®

The National Association of Senior Move Managers®, has awarded the Senior Move Manager~Certified (SMM-C) credential to Sabrina Jones of Movher LLC, based in Spokane Valley, Washington.

The Senior Move Manager~Certified (SMM~C) credential is a three–year designation awarded to individuals who have demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in the Senior Move Management profession.

“NASMM’s SMM~C certification is the professional evolution of certification for Senior Move Management® professionals,” said Mary Kay Buysse, NASMM’s Executive Director. “While many certification programs only measure knowledge, the SMM~C requires a level of experience within the profession to demonstrate individuals have competency in the delivery of Senior Move Management services.”

Individuals who obtain the SMM-C seek to elevate their professional standards and enhance their individual performance while demonstrating the knowledge and experience essential to the Senior Move Management profession.

Movher is an independent moving and storage company, not connected to a franchise or national van line. Movher was founded in 2010 by Spokane resident Sabrina Jones. In 2012, Sabrina left her full-time job at Gonzaga University to pursue Movher full time, purchased her first moving truck and, by 2016, leased her first office and warehouse space, which was quickly outgrown. By 2019, Movher relocated to a 10,000-sf space in Spokane Valley with six moving trucks and converted 2,000-sf of office space to temperature- and humidity-controlled wine storage. Today, the company remains at that location but also has an additional 10,000-sf of warehouse in Spokane to accommodate their customers’ storage needs. In 2022, Movher opened its first branch in Wenatchee, WA and is excited to better serve our central and western Washington customers from that location. We offer in-home, virtual and phone estimates and are licensed to move throughout all of Washington state as well as interstate moves (across state lines), although we limit ourselves to about a 500-mile radius (give or take a couple hundred miles) from our home base in Spokane. In 2023, Movher completed over 1,500 moves and moved over 7,000,000 pounds of household goods - that’s a lot of moving!

Movher supports our community in many ways, with Transitions being our preferred non-profit. Although you can also find us helping during the Polo Classic for Ronald McDonald House, getting equipment and supplies to Dinner on the Bridge for Women and Children’s Free Restaurant, delivering books for the Christmas Bureau and gifts for the Tree of Sharing during the holiday season. We are honored to be able to help whenever and however we can to our community that supports us, as well.

We are involved in local chambers such as Spokane Valley and West Plains, as well as national trade associations like the International Association of Movers and the National Association of Senior Move Managers. We believe in ongoing education and learning. We hold weekly and monthly staff meetings where safety topics are covered, successes are celebrated and shortcomings are addressed with ways to do better next time. We do all of this because we want to provide our customers with the most honest and memorable moving experience possible. After all, who says moving can’t be fun?
